ABOUT ME
Cole Vakassian is a Los Angeles based composer, arranger, and producer from Cloverdale, California. He has a wide range of experience playing various musical instruments, including classical and marching percussion, electric and upright bass, and piano, in a variety of contexts. Cole's love for music started at a young age, and he spent much of his childhood recreating music from his favorite movies and TV shows.
Cole started high school as a beginner and left as a multi-instrumentalist and a well-respected student leader. He lead the drum line, sang tenor in the choir, played bass in a jazz combo, played orchestral percussion, and started learning classical upright bass. Cole lead and conducted numerous rehearsals and performances during his time as a student leader, earning the WUSD Superintendent and WHS Drum Major awards for his contributions. He also taught numerous beginning musicians both how to read written music and how to play percussion instruments with proper technique. These skills continued to develop during his time at Berklee, where he worked as a tutor for various music theory subjects, earning himself Level III Master Tutor certification from the College Reading and Learning Association.
